Final Grade

Over the course of the year I have worked very hard to try to learn and but fourth my best work. I believe that I should receive a passing grade for all my hard work in the class. Throughout the year I have always had an A in the class and always got good grades on my blogs. When doing my blog I always followed the instructions and always provided the information asked for and provided pictures. When grading my blogs I always received a high grade on them. I believe I should get a C for an exam grade because of how I have constantly score very well on all my assignments and have really demonstrate the concepts taught in this class. On past assignments including the essays on camera shots, editing, mise-en-scene, and sound a scored 90 which is a good grade and shows my well understanding of the class.  I additionally believe that my film showed that I desever a C in the class because it showed a understandable story line with the proper thing I have learned in the class. Creative Critical Reflection

Question 4

We incorporated technology into our film by having the props of a phone and cars in out film. When filming our movie we should an iPhone 11 a turned the phone from the video setting of 1080p HD 30 fps to 1080p HD at 60fps to get the best and most clear film possible. When editing our film we used iMovie to cut together our movie. We used the sound we used the song Titan by Simon Wilkinson, we used this song because it had a increase in tempo creating a increase in suspense.

Production Skills question 3

For the production skills I had to do mostly the directing, working the camera, and editing the film. In the beginning of the year I did not know anything about camera shots. Now after practicing all year my camera, editing, sound, and mis-en-scene I have learned the vocabulary of the the film process. I applied all of this into the making of the film. My job was was to direct the film, to making the overall look of the film work. I also did the editing of the film to, when editing the film I cut the shots to make them all flow together.

CCR Question #2 Draft

Our audience engagement research was done on the movies Need For Speed, Baby Driver, and Fast and Furious. To engage the audience in Need for Speed the marketing was designed to reach a lot of people, by having the commercial play at the Super Bowl. For Baby Driver the film was released at on the 4th of July giving the movie more of a chance of having more viewers. For Fast and Furious the actors in the movie appeared at many different Latin day shows to promote the movie to different races, increase the numbers of people watching the film. When planning out marketing for our film I believe we should do similar marketing ideas to the films we researched.  We will make a social media account to promote our movie. By having a social media account we can create ads that can be reposted to increase the audience of our film. It is also a quick, easy and free to promote the movie. We can also can have our actors post ads for the movie and with their following they can promote the fil...

CCR Question #1 Draft

My film use the conventions of an action movie by having standard hero and villain character. The conventions that I challenge for our action movie is not having a know reason for why the items was stollen where in a conventional film, the reason would have been told mostly for revenge. The social groups represented are hard working people that are working for what they have. For the women in our film she is working hard for what she has stollen and the man is working to get back what was stollen from him. Our first convention we used was the prop of a car, the car prop was used in our movie to create a fast pace sense to viewers and create more action shots. Our second convention used was the setting, the conventional setting is a darkly lit area. In our film we used a dark place to built suspense and evil into our film. Our third convention is having close up shots of our character faces to show their expression, showing the over all stress the characters are going through.

Revison #3

Image
For our last revision we changed the title of our film from "The Chase" to "Uncatchable". This title will be a more suspenseful and more eye catching title then the one we had before.

Revision #2

Image
For our second revision we had to change our font to a more original font. Before the revision we had a standard font. Now we have changed it to Noteworthy Bold which is a more original font done by iMovie.

Distribution Plan

For our movie, we would want to get our movie distributed by Universal Pictures. Since the trailer for  our movie came out on January, 31st, we were going to set the release date to be in April of 2020. But, we have now moved it to May, 2020 to gain some extra money from the start of Memorial Day weekend. We plan on putting a DVD/Blu-ray version of our film coming out 12-16 weeks after the premier date in May, which would be around August. This will increase the number of people viewing our film because a lot of people may not have seen the film in theaters and are still wanting to see the film. After that we plan on having Neflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime deals for them to put our film on their streaming services. This would happen about 4-6 months after coming out in May, which would be most likely in October.

Distribution Research- Mad Max: Fury Road

Image
The movie Mad Max has a similar audience to ours with the fast action pace movie. In movie uses multiple ways to distribute their movie, throughout the time it was released. They first released the movie in theaters on May 15th, 2015 and made it available on DVD to sell in stores on September 1st, 2015. In the movie Mad Max the distribution company was American International Pictures and was in charge on the spreading of the film.  As will as being available to buy on DVD it was also available to buy or rent on Amazon. Additionally, the film was made available on Hulu, HBO, and Netflix. By having multiple deals with theses streaming companies, it increases the amount of people able to view the movie on their preferred streaming service. By having the movie by convenient to the audience there is more chances to make more money with more viewers. For our film distribution I think we should consider having the release date between the theater to DVD faster.

Distribution Research: Transformers The Last Knight

Image
The movie Transformers: The Last Knight has a similar audience to ours by having the action seeking  audience. The distribution of the film was done by many different way by Paramount Pictures, first the movie was put on the Blu-ray 4k and Blu-ray 3D. The movie was also put into DVD. By doing this it increased the number of people easily viewing the film. The film was released on July 21, 2017 and was but into DVD on September 26, 2017. Additionally in some places globally, Transformers: The Last Knight was available on Netflix. It is also available other streaming services including, Hulu and Amazon Prime. They also started released the film with the previous Transformer movies to create a bigger package to promote older movies. By these distribution methods, there will be more access to watch the film. For our movie we should also have many other streaming platforms air our movie.

Distribution Research- Fast and Furious 7

Image
The movie Fast and Furious 7 used multiple ways to distribute their movie.  First they sold the movie in stores on DVD as well as make it available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime.  They also made the movie digital on Netflix and available to purchase on HBO. By having these ways to distribute the film it makes it very easy for viewers to see it easily by having many different way to access the movie.  This will increase the number of people viewing the movie because there is a lot of different ways to access it. For our movie we should incorporate the idea of having the movie be on many different viewing platforms to increase the number of viewer and overall the amount of money we can make after the film has aired.

Revision #1

For our first revision we fixed our quality of the video. Before the video was very blurry because it was uploaded and emailed to different places before it was actually posted making the quality of the video very blurry. We changed it by directly uploading it from my computer which is what had the original file on it directly to youtube.

Distribution Research

Traditionally, films distribute their movies within stores or digitally such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, etc. For our movie we would use this by most likely distributing our movie digitally as it would fit better and our movie wouldn't be a really well known to the public at the time.

Marketing Plan

Image
When planning out marketing for our film I believe we should do similar marketing ideas to the films we researched.  I believe we should make a social media account to promote our movie. By having a social media account we can create ads that can be reposted to increase the audience of our film. It is also a quick, easy and free to promote the movie. We can also can have our actors post ads for the movie and with their following they can promote the film.

Audience Engagement Research Need for Speed

Image
In the film Need for Speed, the target audience will be an older group of people due to it's violence. The theme and plot of the film is similar to our film with car racing and high action crime film. The audience will be mostly a male audience due to the interest men will have in the plot of the film. This is similar to our film because we are attracting the same kind of age group as this film. The marketing strategy for this film was to promote the expensive cars being used in the film. The trailer of the film was first shown during the Super Bowl which helped to increase the number of viewers to watch the trailer. There was also a lot of focus on the experience cars used, including Ford cars. With Ford being featured in the film, the company was in big support of the film are promoted it with made commercials promoting the cars in the film and the main actors in the film. The movie Baby Driver, has the same fast action theme as our movie. The movie also has similar car racing scenes, this will create a similar kind of audience for the films. Baby Driver target audience is mostly a younger generation audience, probably between 15-40, due to the action packed plot. The gender many be specific but might be more of a male audience due to the intense crime and action. This will mostly be the same as our films target audiences because we both are attracting younger action seeking people. When marking Baby Driver, Sony Production company decided to release the film right before the 4th of July to increase the number of people see the film on that holiday. Sony also released individual posters for all the cast members to promote the movie and all the different ethnicity represented in the film. This increased the interest of each one of those different race groups to see the role of the character.  The social media used to promote the movie, were...

Audience Engagement Research Fast and Furious

Image
The movie Fast and Furious 7 target audience is similar to ours due to the movies having similar high action plots. Our audience is mostly a younger generation, it will most likely be a male audience of all ages. For women it will be younger women due to the high action movement. When marketing the Fast and Furious movie Universal Studios focused heavy on the different racal groups represented in the film, to draw more attention to a different race. They did this by having there main actors appear at the Billboard Latin Music Awards to draw more attention to hispanic viewers. Additionally they had there main hispanic actress appear in Spanish soup operas to promote the movies actors.
