Midterm Submission

Image
I was in charged of filming the project. We developed the film the way we did to create suspense and try to create an action theme of the film. We did this by having different angle shots so create a sense of confusion, like the first angle shot being a low angle shot to create a unknown but also action shot of the characters running up the stairs. We chose to mostly do over the shoulder shots to give the audience the perspective of the car driver and create suspense of the chase.

2nd schedule filming

We are planning on filming today, December 16, and capture the shots on Lorrianne Road. We are planning on capturing more dialogue of the boy character and start the ending of the the car chase.

film shoot

Image
We film our parking garage shots on Tuesday December 10 as we planed. We did not film on Saturday December 7th due to Makayla getting in a car crash and not having a car available to shoot with. We shot for 2 hours until 9 at night getting all our shots at the garage location. We decided to film at the Sarasota courthouse garage opposed to the Hollywood 11 parking garage because it was less crowded and had better lighting at night. Our first filming totaled up to a minute and 6 seconds of film and I had to change the camera setting in the middle of shooting to 30 pictures a second in order to have enough light in the shots. We are planning on finishing our filming on Monday, December 16.

storyboard

Image
My part in the story board is to film the and capture the shots in the story board. The first shot is a low angle shot and this is used to create a action shot of the boy and girl character running up the stairs. The second and third shot is a wide shot of the girl character jumping into the elevator to give viewers a clear shot of the supporting and what is going on in it. The fourth shot is a low angle shot of the cars pulling out of the parking shot. The fifth is a high angle shot of the cars chasing each other.  The sixth shot is an action of the boy character getting stopped. My job is to capture these shots correctly.

Scout Locations

Image
We have chose to use the Hollywood 11 movie theater parking garage to shoot the beginning of our movie. This parking garage is the best fit because it is mostly empty allowing there to be no distractions in the shots   Our second location is going to be Lorraine Road. This road will be a perfect fit for shooting because it is a very well lite road and is for the most part not a busy road allowing us to be able to film long without having to stop and wait for cars to go by.

schedule filming

We have planned to use two days to film, Saturday December 7 and Tuesday December 10th. We are planning on filming at night so there is less cars on the road and less people around. We have to plan the filming to where the lighting in the videos will match and to where you will see them clearly. Our goal for Saturday is to film Erik in his car chasing Makayla in her car. Our goal on Tuesday is to shoot all the scenes where Erik and Makayla are out of there car in a parking garage running. An overall goal is to make sure the lighting is clear and matches in all the shots.

casting

Erik: Erik is playing as the good guy in this film. He is going to be chasing Makayla to try and catch her from doing anything bad. Erik is frustrated while chasing Makayla because he doesn't want her to get away. Erik is the best fit for this role because he is the nicer one out of us and he would never be the one to do anything wring so he is playing the good guy. Makayla: Makayla is playing as the bad guy in this film. She is running away from Erik during this film. She has done something bad and Erik is trying to catch her for it. Makayla is the best fit for this role because she is very crazy which is a perfect fit for this film because she will have to drive crazy when being chased.

Shot list

1- low angle mid shot from the hip down going up stairs 2- close up on Makayla face showing her fear of being caught 3- close up of Eriks face against elevator 4- wide shot of Erik looking for somewhere to go 5- insert shot of star sign 6- wide shot of Makayla in elevator 7- wide shot of Makayla exit elevator and Erik leaving stairs 8- insert shot of car 9-wide shot of Makayla getting into car. 10- insert shot on Makayla putting car in drive 11- mid shot of Erik getting in different car 12- low angle shot of car driving down ramp 13- aerial shot of cars driving down the road following each other My part in theses shots are to actually shoot the shots. My job is to film the shots and create the overall theme of what we are trying to capture in the film. I am trying to film to make an action/ suspenseful theme. This is done with my choice of low angle and close up shots of our characters to add to the unknown sense of what is happening to create suspense.

Script:

Image
Erik made our script. Within our script the dialogue is only spoken between the 2 characters. The characters never speak to each other directly because they are never in the same scene.
